A PSA(Pumpkin Service Announcement) - There is no such thing as a teacup pig. And the odds of a pig actually staying less than 50 pounds without being malnourished are similar to having a child that becomes a all-star pro-athlete. It might not be entirely impossible, but considering that around 90% of mini-pigs end up in rescues and being abandoned in the first year it is unfair to these wonderful animals that people aren't educating themselves about what to truly expect from life with a mini-pig. Like all animals that have been domesticated as pets/animal family members, great/dedicated animal caregivers tend to end up with great animal children. Please don't adopt a mini-pig based on the desire to have a tiny pig. And please do not buy a pig while so many pigs are waiting at rescues or being euthanized or abandoned. If you think you'd like to adopt a pig, visit www.minipiginfo.com and find out what to truly expect and then make an educated decision. Pigs are amazing family members. But, they require a lot of time and care. Pumpkin and Charlotte are two of the best choices my family ever made. We can't imagine life without them. And we truly believe that many people out there would have their lives infinitely improved by adopting a pig (or two). But for the sake of these amazing beings, we just want to ask that no living being ever be a decision made on a whim only to be abandoned later.
