Meet a Cow Day
Williamsburg, VA
Sunday, May 18th from 10am - 2pm
Saturday, May 24th from 10am - 2pm
Tickets Required!!
When you think of a cow - what comes to mind? Have you ever spent quality time with one before? If not, we invite you to come meet our rescued cow family! You might just leave with a new friend.
Did you know that cows learn their names (even having slightly different moos for each other), that they are incredibly curious and up in EVERYONE'S business ALL the time, and that they love to play and chase each other around the field? Just like dogs, they all have very different personalities though. One of our cows is a total diva, one is super sweet but a little mischievous, and one is a cuddly fluff-ball who turns into a maniac if she suspects you have carrots hidden in your pocket!
Meet A Cow Day will consist of a 45 minute tour of the sanctuary, where you will meet Jenna, Maisie, and Annie up close along with the variety of other rescued animals here at our sanctuary. Your ticket also includes a delicious non-dairy dessert and plant-based snack after your tour, crafts, games and a raffle.
During your tour, you will learn the stories of our rescue cows and how they narrowly escaped very unfortunate fates on the farms where they were born. You will also learn about compassionate cow care, the social and emotional lives of cows, their needs, wants, and desires - and how they became a part of our family and our hearts! We think cows are special and we hope you will too - they aren't so different from the dogs and cats that we normally think of as "family members"!
See the ticket link above for more event info.
IMPORTANT: Due to the current outbreak of HPAI (Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza) in the U.S., we must take certain precautions to ensure safety of our bird family members. In poultry, the virus is extremely transmissible and has a near 100% fatality rate within 24-48 hours of onset. Therefore, we ask that you do not attend this event if you have outdoor birds living with you or on your property (chickens, turkeys, geese, ducks, peafowl, etc.).
For 7 days to the event, we ask that you do not travel to farms or households that keep outdoor birds, and that you do not go to ponds, parks, or other areas where wild waterfowl may congregate. Thank you for helping to keep our bird family safe.
