We got a call from a friend who needed some help with a squatter who had taken up residence at a local middle school. Stacy the goose had shown up by herself one day and never left. The kind school staff fed her some corn but after a week they became concerned about her safety and of course wanted to find her a forever home.
Luckily they called us at Life With Pigs. We had never cared for a goose before and so we picked her up thinking we would find her a waterfowl rescue if needed. But the moment we saw her, we knew she was here to stay. Stacy quickly cozied up with the chickens, though she preferred to sleep with the turkeys at night. But, we knew she needed another goose of her own and so we set out to find her a companion. Stacy loves her swimming pool, honking at Elvis the rooster, and preening in the sun. Miles is a dapper young man who had a rough start to life. He fended off a large predator who attacked him and his mate, but unfortunately his partner succumbed to her injuries. As a young widower, he was in need of a safe new home - and maybe a goose to mend his broken heart.
Luckily we had just such a goose in mind - our Stacy! So we brought this talkative, spirited boy home to join our family. The scars on Mile's bill give him a rugged, handsome exterior, but inside he is a big softy - just watch out for his bill if he hasn't decided he can trust you yet!
