 Volunteer Days
When: Typically held monthly Where: Life With Pigs Farm Sanctuary 195 Maxton Ln Williamsburg, VA 23188 Must RSVP via Signup Genius (link above) to attend! We have various projects we need help with, from barn clean out, coop cleaning, water dish cleaning, fence building, and manure pile. We will of course have time for loving on the animals afterwards! All ages welcome, please sign up only those age 16 or older (and indicate in the comments if you will be bringing younger children). Please wear close-toed shoes or boots and clothes you don't mind getting dirty, as well as gloves if you have them (if not we have some that you can use). Sunscreen is strongly recommended. This event will be entirely outdoors. We will be able to maintain proper social distancing and have hand sanitizer available outdoors. We have an outdoor restroom if needed. For those who wish to start volunteering regularly at the sanctuary, volunteer days are a great way to get to know the animals and see if it is a good fit! We will begin having regular volunteer opportunities for volunteers once they have attended several group events. If you bring snacks, please ensure they do not contain any animal products (vegan only), out of respect for the sanctuary animals. Jenna is going through her "terrible twos" and is getting quite pushy about treats. For everyone's safety we ask that you please do not bring snacks to feed the animals (or if you do, that you leave them with us to distribute at a later time). Parking is available anywhere in the front yard, or along the street. When you arrive please wait in the front yard and we will bring you back once everyone arrives. Volunteers will be required to sign a waiver before entering the property. We look forward to seeing you! |
