Tia’s Second Chance at Motherhood

Tia has always wanted to be a mom. She sat on empty nests, with a heart full of hope, year after year.  Finally, we were able to rescue some poults for her to care for.  The first was a beautiful little girl named Suzy, who came earlier this year.

But Tia faced an unimaginable loss when her beloved Suzy passed away. In the weeks that followed, she tried to connect with the Puffalumps, but something never quite clicked. Though she longed for companionship, she seemed unable to find the bond she was searching for and was still grieving the loss of her daughter.

​Love After Loss

Just when it seemed her days of mothering might be behind her, life gave Tia another chance. This summer, two little babies came into her world: spunky Rachel and gentle Betty. From the very first moment, it was clear that this time, everything was different.

Tia took to them immediately, showering them with love, protection, and guidance. Where once there was sorrow, now there is joy. Rachel and Betty thrive under Tia’s watchful care, and every day they grow stronger, braver, and more curious about the world.

​A Family Reborn

There’s something profoundly healing about seeing Tia with her new family. Her gentle clucks and soft nudges remind us of the universal language of motherhood: the instinct to love and protect, no matter the species.

Visitors who meet Tia, Rachel, and Betty are often moved to tears. They see a family that almost wasn’t, now whole again, and they can’t help but feel inspired by the resilience and strength of these beautiful beings.
