The New Barn is Underway!

So much going on here! We are trying to finish up all our projects before summer hits and Jenna and Maisie are doing "their best" to help.

This new and spacious barn will give Sherman and Lousia a permanent home (rather than their current temporary space in the medical barn).  

Because not all of them currently get along, they have to be separated.  Right now, that means volunteers are carrying Sherman and Louisa back and forth from a temporary space in our medical barn every day just so they can spend time outside.
We’re working to build a new barn that will give them:

• enough space to move around comfortably
• an outside enclosure all their own
• protection during bad weather
• our medical barn fully back to its needed purpose

This new barn will also have space for our chicken family (Indy and her roosters Jareth and Sebastian) so that they have a roomier place to lay their beaks at night.  And importantly a few fans and a heater to keep everyone happy year round. 

Right now have two interns helping build which makes a huge difference. But we only have them another two weeks when the semester ends at William and Mary so we are rushing to build as much as we can!
