Fiona is still struggling, and it's painful to watch. She has days when she seems herself, but still isn't eating much and doesn't have much energy. An ultrasound revealed that her gallbladder has worsened, and she now has an appointment with an internal medicine specialist on Monday. Her kidney values are also elevated, so we aren't sure which issue is causing her to feel poorly, or if it's a combination of both. Unfortunately if it's chronic kidney disease, there isn't much we can do beyond what we are already doing now (nausea meds, appetite meds, kidney specific homemade diet). If it's her gallbladder, then surgery could be considered to remove it... though that could be dangerous if her kidneys are truly damaged. We are hoping the specialist appointment will give us some insight into what exactly we are dealing with so we can figure out how best to help her.
Please keep Fiona in your thoughts and hope for some good news at her appointment!
