Today, we had to say goodbye to our sweet, timid Odin.
Odin was a nervous little guy in so many ways, but if you knew him, you knew how deeply he loved. He had a habit of pawing at your arm, your chest, or even your face whenever he wanted attention. It was his way of saying, “Please notice me. Please love on me.” And once you did, he would look into your eyes with such intensity and affection that it felt like he was staring straight into your soul.

It’s with heavy and severely broken hearts that we share that our beloved turkey, Charlie, has passed. This spring, for the first time, she started venturing over the fence, determined to find a nesting spot. Despite our efforts to keep her safely in our yard, during one of her adventures and before we could reach her, a predator (likely a raccoon or fox) took her from us.
Poor Elton passed away last night shortly after arriving at the Vet ER. He was fine yesterday morning and seemed off a little by afternoon and then just seem to be completely lethargic and losing his ability to stand by night. He was turning 8 years old but there is never enough time with any of our animals and we will miss is big personality, willingness to endure hugs gracefully, and fluffy feet.
Indy is currently staying inside with us as she deals with the loss of her pal. So we will be giving her extra love and attention. This was the last video we took of our little boy. This was this morning just hours before he passed. Arthur was just so happy and loved being with his ‘flock’. Even when mom was brushing her teeth. We are really struggling with losing him. We thought he would be here for so much longer and our hearts are absolutely broken.
