Pumpkin was rescued from a backyard breeding operation where she was used to produce litter after litter of piglets. When we met Pumpkin, she had recently had her last 9 babies and the breeder was moving out of state. They needed a home quickly for Pumpkin. At the time we lived in a second-floor condo but knew that most pigs don’t end up finding forever homes and wanted to ensure Pumpkin’s happy retirement. So, we agreed to adopt her and asked if she might keep one of her babies with her. So, now Pumpkin daily snuggles with her only baby that she was ever allowed to keep, Charlotte.
