Charlotte Across America: One Pig's Activism Adventure

Charlotte and Ryan’s College Campus Tour!

This spring, I want to hit the road with Charlotte – we’ll be touring college campuses to raise awareness for animals.  Again and again, I witness people making the connection when they meet Charlotte: Pigs are friends not food.

Through the combination of meeting a pet pig and providing literature regarding a plant-based diet, Charlotte and I hope to create a more compassionate world amongst young adults, who are typically more willing to reconsider their views on animals and their diets.

Charlotte is a spunky four-month old mini piglet, who lives with my family full-time.  Much like a family dog or cat, she goes for walks on a leash and is litter-box trained.  She also lives with her mom, Pumpkin, who will likely join us on tour.  Charlotte already regularly visits Colonial Williamsburg, College of William and Mary, and even the local libraries.  She is very agreeable to people petting and holding her.  She often wears clothing and buttons advocating for animal rights.

Through interactions with Charlotte, people see that pigs are someone and not something.  This beautiful girl is no different than the pigs locked inside factory farm walls.
